How BNPL Works (Quick Steps)
- Add items to your basket and continue to checkout.
- Choose Clearpay or Klarna under payment methods.
- Complete the quick eligibility check and set up your plan.
- Take your order now, and your payments will be collected automatically by the BNPL provider.
Fees, Refunds & Returns
- Fees/Interest: COW doesn’t charge BNPL fees. Providers may charge late fees if you miss a payment—see Clearpay/Klarna terms.
- Refunds: If you return items, we’ll process the refund to your original payment method. For BNPL, your plan will be updated by the provider (instalments adjusted or refunded).
- Exchanges: Treated like a return + new order.

Klarna – FAQs (UK)
What is Klarna?
Klarna lets you spread the cost or try before you buy. We offer Pay in 3 and Pay in 30 Days (availability depends on your order and Klarna’s checks).
How does Pay in 3 work?
Your total is split into three equal payments. The first is taken at checkout, with the next two collected automatically on the dates Klarna shows you.
How does Pay in 30 Days work?
Order now and pay in full within 30 days of dispatch. Klarna will email your due date and reminders.
Am I eligible to use Klarna?
You must be 18+, a UK resident, and pass Klarna’s checks (subject to status and affordability).
Does Klarna run a credit check?
Klarna may run soft searches and other affordability checks. Soft searches don’t impact your credit score. Missed payments may affect your ability to obtain credit in future.
Are there fees or interest?
When you pay on time, Pay in 3 and Pay in 30 Days are typically interest-free. Late fees may apply if a payment is missed—see Klarna’s terms.
When will my payments be taken?
Pay in 3: 1st payment at checkout, then two further automatic payments on the scheduled dates. Pay in 30 Days: the full balance is due by your stated due date.
Where can I manage my Klarna plan?
Use the Klarna app or web portal to view your schedule, update card details, or pay early. Klarna also emails payment reminders.
What happens if I return or cancel?
We’ll process your refund once we receive and approve the return. Klarna will update your plan (adjust/cancel remaining instalments or refund what you’ve paid). For Pay in 30 Days, the invoice is updated or voided.
My payment failed or I missed one—what now?
Klarna will notify you and may reattempt collection. Late fees may apply. Update your payment method in the Klarna app and check their help pages for guidance.
Will using Klarna affect my credit score?
Soft checks don’t affect your score. However, late or missed payments can impact future borrowing.
Can I use Klarna on any order?
Klarna sets minimum/maximum order limits and may not be available on all orders, products, or baskets.
Is Klarna regulated?
Klarna’s Pay in 3 and Pay in 30 Days are unregulated credit agreements in the UK. Use responsibly. 18+, UK residents only. Subject to status and affordability checks. Late/missed payments may impact your financial standing. Terms apply.

Clearpay – FAQs (UK)
What is Clearpay?
Clearpay lets you split your purchase into four interest-free instalments, paid every two weeks (subject to eligibility).
How does it work?
You’ll pay the first instalment at checkout. The remaining three are taken automatically every two weeks from your chosen card.
Am I eligible?
You must be 18+, a UK resident, and pass Clearpay’s checks. Availability depends on basket value and other factors.
Are there fees or interest?
There’s no interest when you pay on time. Late fees may apply if a payment is missed—see Clearpay’s terms.
Where do I manage my plan?
Use the Clearpay app or your Clearpay account online to view your schedule, change cards, or make early payments.
What happens with returns or cancellations?
Once we process a refund, Clearpay updates your plan—future instalments may be cancelled and paid amounts refunded where applicable.
Will Clearpay affect my credit score?
Clearpay may run checks and assess affordability. Missed payments can impact your ability to obtain credit in future.
Is Clearpay regulated?

PayPal – FAQs (UK)
What is PayPal?
PayPal lets you check out quickly and securely using your PayPal balance, bank account, or saved cards.
Do I need a PayPal account?
Yes—checkout is completed through your PayPal account. You can sign up during checkout if you don’t have one.
Does PayPal offer instalments?
PayPal may offer PayPal Pay in 3 to eligible UK customers on qualifying baskets (subject to status and approval). Availability is shown at checkout by PayPal.
Are there fees?
There are no extra fees from us for using PayPal. PayPal may charge fees or apply terms for certain services—see PayPal’s UK terms.
How do refunds work with PayPal?
We refund to your original PayPal payment. If you used PayPal Pay in 3, PayPal adjusts your instalments or issues refunds accordingly.
Is PayPal secure?
Yes—PayPal uses encryption and may require additional verification (e.g., 2-step authentication). Eligible purchases may be covered by PayPal Buyer Protection (see terms).
